We took a little class field trip out to Windsor Castle to give the Queen a visit. She's a nice lady. She's got pretty nice digs too. The town was pretty cool. Fairly quaint. I like how older places like that do their best to maintain the look of an older town. Even the new places seem somewhat old. Good times...
I just love the pattern the stone makes as it is laid. I enjoy the ordered chaos it creates. I also really like the windows inset.
This is looking out from one of the loopholes (so archers can shoot with a large range, but people can hardly shoot in). I just think it looks cool.
This is a garden where the moat used to be around the keep. I think this is a great use for the space. Most places I've seen just plant some grass and call it good. These guys actually seem to have put some thought into it.
This is a detail of some of the stonework. All of the mortar joints have these little pieces of obsidian placed in them. I think it's a good idea, but personally I think it's pretty ugly. They should have just left it alone. Unless there's some defensive quality to it...
