Today was more museum hopping and a stop by City Hall. I really enjoyed the Design Museum, though it was a little small. It had a great gift shop though and I picked up a deck of architecture playing cards. Mies is the queen of spades, in case you wanted to know. They had a lot of great books as well. The area was really cool. Every building had really great details for the front porches facing the river. It's a simple design problem and it's interesting to see how differently they can be. Pictures to follow. I really love the Tate Modern Museum. I detested modern art until I took a modern art theory course, and now that I understand it a little better, I am able to appreciate it more. It had a great collection in a great building. That's about all you can ask from a museum. We walked across the Millennium Bridge on the way back. That was really cool. Again with the cable systems. I love cable system for structures. They are so sophisticated yet simple to do. With the right connections, a few cables can replace multiple supports, and I love seeing them implimented so often.
